It’s “perfectly reasonable” to worry about whether Donald Trump would leave the White House peaceably in event he loses the upcoming election, according to his niece, Mary Trump. However, he’s more likely to leave in the event that Democrat Joe Biden pulls off a “resounding” victory in November, according to Trump’s niece, the author of the blockbuster book Too Much and Never Enough, which sold more than 1 million copies on the day of release.

The president had fought an ultimately fruitless court battle to keep the book by the 55-year-old daughter of his late brother, Fred Jr., from being published.

However, since Donald Trump lost that battle–and a parallel fight to keep Mary Trump from talking about her book–Mary Trump has become a fixture of TV interviews.

“I think it’s perfectly reasonable to worry about that. Like how he responds depends a lot on how, if he loses, how badly he loses,” Mary Trump said of the persistent concerns that her uncle will refuse to give way to President Biden after his Inauguration, should the Democrat beat Trump at the polls. “I think the more resounding Joe Biden victory the less likely it is for Donald to stick around. He’s you know, somebody who needs to be right all the time and needs to be winning all the time will need desperly to spin away from a crushing defeat, and I don’t know what form that would take, but that, as far as I’m concerned, is the only way to not guarantee but at least give us a better possibility that there will be a peaceful transition after the election on November 3.”
